  • No password and nothing to install: you sign in with a code we email you.
  • On iPhone and Android too, with a notification when your sale or purchase moves on.
An illustration with invented addresses: the same chain of six, as the seller of 12 Netherstone Rise sees it.

Your sale or purchase, and your chain.

Where it has got to, every milestone with a plain description of what it means and who usually does it, and who is handling it: the agency, branch and agent, with the number to call. On the website you can also see which conveyancing firm is acting on your side, once the agent has invited them. Buying and selling at once? Each agent can invite you, and you follow both from one list.

A seller's view of their sale in ChainSight: 14 Alderthwaite Rise, Leeds, at Sale Agreed with 60% of milestones complete, who is handling it at Fernbridge & Co, and the whole chain of eight properties. The two next to theirs show only a postcode; the rest say Property details private, with the agency and how far along each one is.
A seller's view in ChainSight, with invented demo data: the whole chain, a postcode for the properties next to theirs, and only the agency and progress for the rest.
The same seller's milestones: fifteen steps in four groups, Legal, Financial, Survey and Search, and Completion, each with a short description of what it means. Nine are ticked; Enquiries satisfied, Contracts signed, Searches complete and the three Completion steps are still to come.
The same seller's view, further down: each milestone says what it means and who usually does it.

Nobody else in the chain learns who you are.

You are never named to other agencies, or to the other buyers and sellers in the chain. The homes next to yours show as a postcode, and the rest only as progress and the agency handling them.

Questions from buyers and sellers.

What does it cost?

Nothing, permanently, and there is no advertising. Estate agencies pay for ChainSight.

My estate agent doesn’t use ChainSight. Can I join?

Not on your own. Every account is by invitation, and buyers and sellers are invited by the estate agent handling the sale. If you would like to follow it this way, ask them about ChainSight.

Who updates my sale or purchase?

The estate agent handling it moves the status on and ticks off the milestones. If they invite the buyer’s conveyancer, the conveyancer can tick off some legal steps too, and you are told when they do.

Does my conveyancer or solicitor use ChainSight?

If the estate agent invites them. You can then see on the website which firm is acting on your side.

Is there an app?

Yes, on iPhone and Android. Follow your sale or purchase on your phone, with a notification when it moves on. More about the app.

How do I leave?

Ask for your account to be deleted, by email, at any time. It is usually done within 30 days. What is removed and what is kept, and the exceptions, are set out on a public page.

Questions about your sale or purchase itself are for your estate agent or conveyancer.
